Life and Things

Ok so im bored, thought id write something here for a bit before bed. Not much has happened recently so not much to write about. Mum & Dad have both had their birthdays which i managed to not only remember but buy cards and presents for - im a reformed man!!

This month has consisted of mainly working/gym/watching movies and listening to music, boring i know but everyones back at uni now so not much happening. Im still working at Chem-Dry my contract keeps getting extended which is a good thing i guess, i like the people i work with and the job itself is relativly easy for the majority of the time. I do alot more things now though so its more varied which is good because i get bored easily! Which reminds me...

Almost had an accident coming home from work on thursday night, a car breaked hard infront me causing me to skid and stop about an inch from his bumper. Maybe i wasnt paying attention properly and was just thinking about getting home but it certainly shook me up! I wish people would check in their mirrors before just breaking erratically. The Car is due for an MOT on thursday (fingers crossed) but at least it means getting a day off from the early shift, starting at 8am next week will be a nightmare. I cant stand mornings.

Ive also been looking at cars alot recently, going to get a newer one in the summer dont know what yet but its likely a newish peageut 306 will be a good choice. Got quoted £1000 fully comp insurance which is still appauling but its an improvement on last year. On a final note - Winter pisses me off!!

Im gonna grab some sleep, oh and "José González - Heartbeats" is a great song! - now where did i put that knife :)

If I were a Dog,

Took one of these silly online tickle tests i havent been on that website since college years!! Well apparantly; if i were a dog.....

"No bones about it, you're a loyal, nurturing Collie. A sensitive breed, you're always approachable and very in tune with others' feelings — just like Lassie! Because of your empathetic nature, you tend to be the group psychologist to your circle of friends. Your faithful, easygoing, steadfast personality makes you a wonderful confidant; people love to come to you with their troubles. Bottom line? You're a star at interpersonal relationships and have a knack for making new friends and acquaintances wherever you go. After all, what's a Collie without a flock to look after? Since you're so giving, your buddies might not realize that you need them just as much as they need you, so make sure not to neglect yours truly. Everyone deserves some "me" time"

Hmmm - im not convinced :) Finished work for the weekend now (thank god), still feel like crap. Heard from Dan at uni tonight for the first time in a while and hes managed to pass his driving test so good for him maybe next year in loughborough we can all go street racing... ok maybe not. Got to be up in the morning for opticians - oh the joy.

New Year Edinburgh Trip

Just a quick update; went to Edinburgh for New Year again this year had good time. Left on the Friday morning to get the train to Edinburgh and for once it was actually pretty quick, very few stops between Hull and Edinburgh meant the Journey only took around 3:30. I would just like to take this moment to congratulate richard for failing to book SEATS on trains, i think a lesson has been learned for future trips :D

Anyway we got to edinburgh where i met Kat (richards housemates boyfriend) - yes thats his nickname his real name is mouriano. He would be spending the new year with us. He was actually an amusing guy whos idea of chatting to females was slightly less than subtle but nevertheless made for an entertaining weekend. Went out drinking with some of richards friends on the friday night but most of them were "boring" which left the 3 of us to go to a nightclub called "Espionage" reminded me kinda like position at home with multiple levels with different rooms etc. After copious amounts of alochol chatting and dancing not to mention the odd moment of "my god shes an angel" we eventually headed home at about 3:30.

New Years Eve started at about 3pm in the afternoon after we had all managed to crawl out of our beds and nurse the hangovers, we went straight to the concert about 9ish it seemed less busy than the year before but soon became full. The enclosure tickets were well worth the extra money as it meant we could actually stand and move around rather than slipping around on the muddy embankment like some kinda breakdancing circus act. Kat brought some kinda columbian alcohol in a tetrapack like orange juice, it tasted like sambuca though took some getting used to but was pretty good.

The bands this year were good, KT Tunstall and Texas were both great with the final texas song being a cover of a scissor sisters song who we had seen the previous year. We also met some girls from blackpool who were good fun so spent the concert and new year with them. It seems every year we always meet some interesting people to let the new year in with, who knows maybe the whole place is filled with friendly Interesting people?! hmm maybe not.

Heres some pictures taken from my mobile so there not good quality but saying i forgot my digital camera like a retard...;

The firework display was as good as ever with the constant sound of bangs for the 5 minutes after midnight, the atmosphere there has to be experienced to be understood really.

Got home on the 2nd of January after a long train journey back and now to top it off im full of flu and at work! Typical, back at the opticians on saturday to have the "teach" appointment for my contact lenses which basically means they teach you how to put the things in or in other words there gonna teach me how poke my eye without damaging it i guess :)
