A New Update? Surely Not.

Its been ages since the last update so whats happened?

Well ive turned 21, no difference really. Got some nice little presents though. One of which a book called "The Game" by niell Strauss which i would reccommend to anyone its well worth the read.

I lounged around for a while after i finished my summer job then i applied to a recruitment agency and ive done 4 weeks work in tele-marketing. Its not an experience i want to be repeating in a hurry but it wasnt that bad i suppose. It was mainly telephoning GPs, Health Visitors and Practice Nurses on behalf of the Department of Health asking them questions about childhood immunisations and the MMR Injection. Some interesting replies really - i could tell you but it would be unethical :) I also learnt that the English public transport system isnt the most reliable in the world in the 4 weeks i was working i was late three times because of a lousy public transport system whereby three busses come at once, its not like i had an option either with no car parking it was the only way into the city centre.

Sorted accomodation for University for my Final year as well, it turns out that only James and Myself will be moving back into the house for the final year, Dan Ian and Rob are moving elsewhere i think, its a shame really and kinda pissed me off, i didnt think we had a bad deal last year, i guess it all depends on the quality of where you want to live. Personally id rather pay more and get more than pay less get less, i need a good working environment and the house is in a good location even for me the laziest of students. Besides that i really didnt want to have t be driving to Loughborough for the next month to try and house hunt, i can do without that hassle. Hopefully even though we are all going to be living seperatly we can still enjoy some good nights out and the friendships are not going to be drastically effected by this move, who knows - time will tell.

I went to see Sarah in York a few weekends ago as well had a relaxing day, went to McAuther Glenn and managed to spend £50 on some catapillar boots/shoes and i didnt even go to buy anything! Thats what females do to you (thats my excuse). The aim was just to get out of Hull for a day and spend some time with some enjoyable company, the place drives me nuts when im here on my own!

I Finally got around to buying a new phone as well a nice white sony ericsson z520i, (matches the ipod nicely) it set me back £129 but to be honest i was glad to get rid of the old phone it had seen better days since i got it when i left college in 2003! My Spending Spree continued when i also decided to decorate my bedroom, bought myself a nice double bed (wishful thinking?!) and some chinese style wallpaper. My challenge is now to dump all the crap i have collected over the past 5 years and go for the minimalistic approach and fill the space in the bed. I still need to buy some new storage units but its not looking too bad at all im not so sure about these flatpack furnitures though - it took me 3 hours to put up the damn bed!

On Other News, having spoken with Richard the New Year tickets have been booked and purchased so i guess its upto Edinburgh for another festive pissup. Last year was pretty good except the fact i felt completly shite the majority of the time i was up there, im blaming the adverse weather conditions and the fact i really detest cold weather. Hopefully i should be ok this year and we can get out an about more.

Im sure theres something ive forgotten but if theres anything else i can always add it next update.

  • "A new update? Surely not." - about time too! ;)

I think that the public transport varies from place to place. I, for one, know that Edinburgh's transport is fairly reliable, and now that they've implemented these new bus trackers that tell you when the next bus is going to arrive, it's become even better. However I also know that from Hull city centre to Swanland, there's a bus every other hour or so; I live in Swanland so give me a way to get home!

Just James and yourself?! That's a poor show if you ask me! Are you going to advertise for other people or are you just going to have a lot more space, and a spare room for when I come and visit? ;)

"I'm blaming the adverse weather conditions and the fact i really detest cold weather" Yeah there's a wee problem with that; it's meant to be the coldest winter in quite some time this year - you may want to pack your artic weather suits ;) Hopefully if we plan it well enough we can spend a couple more nights out and get to see a little more of the city, during the day and night; it'll be great!

    Great entry; keep them coming!
