Riding along in my Automobile...

Got my first car today nothing special just a peageut 106 but its nice to have a car thats actually mine. Hopefully i can be a bit more independent now, its quite nice actually managed to drive it home without having a smash anyway.

Finally got a day off today and end the 64 hour week!! Dedication if you ask me but the 3 days on 3 days off rota has now started so thats not too bad at all better than the 6 on 2 off everyone else is working...

Not alot to report really its been all work no play to be honest. A guy tried to claim hed fell down a drain at work (the drain that was completly flush to the ground), its amazing what some people will try claim off these days. So i had to fill out incident forms for an accident that never happened....stupidity.

My Ipod and Di Vinci Code also came so ive been chilling with some music and a book, its pretty good actually. Should have it completed within a few days....

To Shuffle or not to Shuffle... That is the question.

I chose to shuffle, in an impulsive buy i got home from work and decided to buy an Apple IShuffle (after a recommendation from richard) & the Da vinci Code book. Should be an Interesting read when i get some free time.

The Second induction day passed without too much hassle. Found out who id be working with during the summer, dont think its gonna be quite the same as working with Vicky and Shauna last year somehow but never mind. Also got my rota which is always nice to have. I will be the Ranger on Princess Elizabeth Park starting on Monday so that should be well errrm Interesting, its in a bit of a rough area and the kids apparantly cant be trusted with anything so that should be fun....

Anyway the park is relativly quiet during the day hense the want for an Ishuffle might help break up some of the slow periods, the rest of the time can be spent chatting with Bob (hes gonna be the pool attendent) and doing some of the tasks that need to be done.

finally i also made some slight changes to the blog today after copying some of richards features, im gonna post a picture shortly and one in the parks uniform just for shits and giggles (go go go yogi)

The Joys of Being a Parky

I Started my summer job today and as per usual it was never plain sailing. Got up at 6am (wtf?) to allow pleanty of time to travel to work, I took a nice slow walk to catch the bus (brought back some memories of college). Got the bus and just as we arrived into town there was a funny smell, rather like TCP which was rather strange... then the driver told us to get off and he pulled the bus infront of the depot - good job really as some smoke started to appear from the ticket machine. Health Warning: Burning ink doesnt smell too good its not advisable to inhale.
After that was dealt with by the driver + mechanic i finally started to get back on track, Arriving at work a fashionable 5 minutes late. Good effort. Luckily everyone else was running late so it wasnt too drastic.

I Met some of the people i worked with last year so it was nice to see some familiar faces again, matt from the bouncy castles and vicky from kneeshaw. Also talked to Carly Scott a bit was nice to catch up with someone from the SMC and see how others were getting along. Shes changed quite alot, nice girl.

After the boring formalaties were finished about customer service etc we were finally told what our duties were gonna be, everyone else got given similar jobs to last year, pool attendents, surestart, bouncy castle roadshow etc... but it seems that this year im going to be an actual Ranger responsible for a whole park, keeping logs, ensuring saftey, taking complaints, helping customers etc omg responsibility!! Only minor problem is the shift pattern 3 days on and 3 days off 9am to 9pm its gonna be some looooooooong days. Anyway should be a good challenge im really looking forward to doing something instead of just being at home all the time, the park i will be working at is a fair distance from my house though which leads me on to........

CARS - Im guessing now, to save my lazy ass a 45 minute cycle to work and back each day the purchase of a car is going to be needed. After having a discussion/fashion debate with my dad it was decided that i should just get a cheap car for the time being (LADA need not apply) and try to kill off the first years insurance which is going to be around £800 or so regardless of the car i get. OUCH. I knew i should have rushed through pass plus. Ah well. Im gonna get Stung. Still the good old parents words of wisdom (using the nice as long as it gets from A>B line) kinda talked me out getting a nice car first as he is intent on thinking i cant actually drive and am going scratch it here and there, He has Little faith.

Also found out today that unfortunatly i will be TAXED yes thats right TAXED on the money i earn this summer because it is likely i will also be earning money as im gonna be taking a year out. This brings my wages down by - well i dunno how much yet but i can only imagine how much they are gonna take from £310 a week. All i can say is i expect to see some improvements in the NHS or Public Transport that can be justified by them taking all my money grrrrrrrr! Rant over.

Bed time now, another stupid Induction day tomorrow where we can go over more health and saftey procedures, how not to break your back picking up a chair, how to saftely operate a bouncy castle without suffocating kids and how not to turn your paddling pools into chlorine filled extermination tanks.

ah... The Joys of being a Parky

Ok Lets Get Started

Nope its not a Black Eyed Peas Song its the Start of my Blog!

After toying with the idea of making a blog for quite a while, a friend has finally told me to get one done. Not a bad idea i suppose, Ive always wanted to keep a none personal diary so i could look back on things but something has always stopped me. Probably Laziness. Anyway ive finally got one done.

Living back at home with the parents now after retruning from University, so not many exciting things have happened to be honest. Had a few nights out the past few weeks, Pozition and a club called the Attic nothing really eventful though.

Went to cinema with Richard on Wednesday, thought it would be a good idea to see War of the Worlds. Yeah ok we were kind of wrong, i wouldnt exactly put it on my biggest hit list. Tom cruise didnt spoil the film as much as i thought, he actually played an ok part. The ending however was to be honest was far too abrupt. The film dragged on with the same sort of explosive action for an hour or so and then everything just ended, which was a bit unbelievable but fitted to the orginal war of the worlds story where they die from a common cold. Still, I cant help but thinking it was a good film opportunity missed.

In other News, I start my Summer Job as a Park Ranger for the good old council on Wednesday so a chance to meet some new people and be outdoors for 8 hours a day lets hope the summer weather will be nice. Funny enough im more looking forward to the fact of actually doing something with my time than the actual money i will be earning. After returning home from university i was looking forward to just lounging about and doing absolutly nothing. 4 weeks later and ive finally realised its boring as hell. How people can not work or do anything with their lives is beyond me but thats another story.
